2015- A New Year, New Things To Look Forward To

So guys, its 2015!  Like the post says, its a new year, which means that there are new things to look forward to. But what are they? Mega gymnastics fans know, but I have a feeling a lot of readers are either new to gymnastics, or know little about it.

New Seniors- There is a new batch of seniors coming in this year, the one I am most excited for is USA's Nia Dennis. At the 2014 Nationals, Nia placed second in the all-around to MG Elite's Jazmyn Foberg, she placed first on the floor and vault, as well as other accomplishments. Nia stuck almost every pass on her night two floor routine, the judges and fans were amazed. I am so looking forward to Nia's first senior Nationals. She should be there, barring any major injuries. There are also some international juniors turning senior, and I am looking forward to that as well.

Returning Olympians- So far, we heard of three Olympians returning. Aly Raisman is returning after two years off competition, the last time we saw her competing was in floor finals with her gold medal winning routine, she is slated to come back at Classics this year, Aly has already made the National Team, along with teammate and Olympic All-Around Champion Gabrielle Douglas. The last time we saw Gabby was when she fell on beam in the beam finals, but no one remembers her like that, we remember her as the girl who rose up, proved all the haters wrong, and won the 2012 Olympic All-Around. Gabby is also slated to compete at this year's Classics. Now I said three. And the third gymnast returning is McKayla Maroney. Now I bet you are all like "What? McKayla came back in 2013. You are insane" But no, I am not. McKayla has suffered an injury, a knee surgery happened and now she's more determined than ever. It looks as if McKayla will return at Classics, maybe even Nationals, McKayla Maroney even says she is more determined to make the Olympic Team than ever before. Looks like the hate surrounding her comeback has fueled her. She'll fool around and do acting later.

The Tension- As we know: The Olympics are only a year away. Can you believe it???? It seems like just yesterday I was tearing up watching the Fierce Five stand on the podium, and now.... its only a year til Rio! Now as we know, at Nationals, it will be the official first step towards Rio. And I am excited. You always see the girls working harder than they ever have the year before the Olympics. And for that, I am excited.

2015 will be a good year for gymnastics........... and Nationals this year equals; The first stepping stone twoards Rio De Janeiro
