Re-Watching; Nationals 2011

I've been watching the 2011 Nationals on Youtube. And let me say, that was one of the absolute worst Nationals yet. I watched Nationals back to 2000. And that was the absolute worst Nationals that they have had for awhile. So lets get some of the most mentioned moments of the Nationals

Jordyn Wieber Wins the Gold- After a somewhat rocky beam routine on night one, Jordyn Wieber bounced off and had amazing floor, vault, and bars routines. And she aced all her night two routines. Jordyn Wieber really started her senior career here and skyrocketed for the next year and a half. Jordyn deserved the win at Nationals that year and that gave her a real confidence boost.

Aly Raisman Celebrates One Of the High Spots of Night One's Competition- We can all agree that Aly's floor routine was one of the highest points at that Nationals. Aly danced and tumbled her way through Hava Naglia, a tribute to her Jewish Background. Her passes were so strong, including a dynamic first pass a 1 1/2 to double tuck punch front tuck.

The Return of Rebecca Bross, four time Worlds Medalist, USA National Champ- Well, Rebecca Bross was off for a little bit, leaving the competition World. She had just come back. She flubbed her beam routine as well as her bars on night one, but her floor routine was pretty amazing, and also had a fail on beam on night two.

Rebecca Bross's Horrible Beam Routines- Rebecca Bross had horrible beam routines on both nights of the competition. On night one she fell on her standing arabian, balance check on her switch split ring leap, and not to mention falling on the dismount that had been troubling her for ages, the Patterson Dismount. Rebecca had a major balance check on her mount night two (Kinda sad providing the mount, which is a step on) And once again, falling on her Patterson dismount, this time missing her foot on the beam.

Chellsie Memmel Celebrates An Amazing Beam Routine, Night One- Chellsie Memmel, Rotation 2, Celebrates a truly amazing Beam Routine Night One. It was amazing, from the mount to the dismount, it was difficulty, with hard combinations. It was a truly rememberable beam routine.

Marta Comes Out Disappointed With Performance From Night One- Marta went home horrified after Night One. After seeing fails on all four of the events, and only seeing a couple solid routines, Marta as well as Steve Riebecky and Nastia Liukin, the Worlds Selection Committee. And honestly? When I clicked off on the TV (Because it was 8:40 and a school night when the competition ended) I was like "USA is screwed for Worlds" Because honestly, it was one of the absolute worst Nationals.

The New Seniors: We also had some new seniors in the competition, such as McKayla Maroney, Gabrielle Douglas, Sabrina Vega, and most of all, the National Champion, Jordyn Wieber. Even though we didn't see solid routines from all these new girls (Yes I am referring to Sabrina's many mistakes on bars night one and Gabby's mistakes overall in the competition)

The Returnees: There were a lot of Comeback Kids as well as the old gymnasts. The Comeback Kids Being Chellsie Memmel, Shawn Johnson, and Alicia Sacramone. Even though Alicia had made the comeback before the Nationals, but these guys were Comebackies. But the Old Gymnasts the ones that were not on the Beijing Team. Aly Raisman comes to mind, who was on the 2010 Team. Rebecca Bross, also, the 2009 World Team Member, the 2010 National Champion, and 2010 National Team Member. And Anna Li who was elite before signing on with UCLA as a collegiate gymnast. And came back in 2011.

Gabby's Horrendous Senior Opening- Gabby Douglas, who was fresh onto the senior team, and who has been trying to find her place in the Senior Team, but did not do it at Nationals not night one or two, She struggled horrendously. She lurched on vault, split her legs on bars, Fell on beam, Stumbled on floor, fell to her knees on floor, basically, her 2011 Nationals were bad, but she gained courage competing on that 2011 Worlds Team, winning the gold. I am so sorry for Gabby. She had hurt her hamstring in training, as her story says. And she had just moved with Chow's in Des Moines, Illinois. She moved away from her family in Virginia Beach, Virginia, thusly the emotional baggage.

Rebecca Bross's Injury- Everyone who was watching the Gymnastics Nationals  held a moment of silence when the Reigning National Champion, Rebecca Bross fell from a dislocated kneecap after attempting  a double twisting Yurchenko and coming out under rotated, still twisting into the ground. She was carried away in a wheelchair. She collapsed onto the vaulting lane, and the competition was stopped for 2 1/2 minutes out of respect, the vaulting competition stopped for 5 so they could get Rebecca off the matt. She was carried off into the wheelchair, crying, screaming. She was so devastated that she had lost her dream.

And thats the most of it! Those are the most remembered events of the Worlds
